We met on a sunny day last winter- about a year ago.
Their wedding took place in one of the hottest months this past summer. It was HOT. And perfect.

Time to get married!
The water was the most unbelievable color of blue. I could photograph on the beach at
Dreams Resort everyday.

With it being mid-day, we decided to go to the garden to capture a few pretty portraits and
wait to get some on the beach. This is was the second wedding that Joel helped me photograph.

When Jessica and I talked about what her and Jeff were expecting for their wedding photos,
she expressed to me that they wanted some really romantic photos on the beach.
I suggested we do them closer to sunset. The result was totally worth the wait.

On a side note, I would like to share a small note from Jessica’s mother, Connie. She is so sweet.

Josh figured out that Karin was something special 11 years ago. As he walked down the aisle with her, at his cousin’s wedding in Oct of 1999, he had no idea just how his life would change. Karin & Josh were to witness her sister’s and his cousin’s wedding, as Best Man and Maid of Honor. It was there, that both of their lives changed forever….

On a side note, this is the first time my husband, Joel shot with me. He did an absolute FANTASTIC job. Some of his images really took my breathe away. I can’t wait to work with him again…

The reception was held at the Crystal Lake Golf Club in Lakeville. A beautiful place for some more stunning portraits in the pretty autumn light.

Caryn and I have known each other for a long time as we went to elementary and high school together. When she got engaged, so contacted me and asked me if I was available to photograph her and Dave’s wedding. I was fortunate enough to have the date open because it is something that I will never forget.

As Caryn and I started talking, she mentioned to me one small detail that was actually the biggest and one of the most important details of their day. Their wedding was to be a SURPRISE! Only immediate family where to know that they were going to promise each other on this beautiful Friday night and to everyone else, it was going to be an engagement party.

Invitations went out to Family & Friends. We discussed our schedules as we needed to be super sneaky and not let on to anyone. I was there to photograph their engagement party at the Cannon Golf Club.
We arrived early (Caryn & Dave were dressed) as we only had about an hour or so before they needed to change into their party attire.

Everything went as planned. A gorgeous couple with some really pretty fall light.

The golf course had this area that was filled with milkweed and they were in full seed. This was one of the first things that I noticed when I had arrived. I just had to take a few with Caryn & Dave.

It looked and felt like they were standing in a cotton field.
Perfect for them to get a little romantic.



This one leaves me speechless. Caryn & Dave your love is perfect.

It isn’t very often at all that I would post any family pictures, but I just can’t help myself. Everything was perfect for these.

Caryn has the cutest nephews who happen to be twins. Love them…

Caryn’s brother stood up to make a little speech and announce that their engagement would be coming to an end “very soon”. To be in the room while he said that and knowing what I knew, was very fun. Everyone’s response was, “well yeah” with some giggles, but little did they know.
