Cameron,
Your parents (and Hudson) have waited a very, very long time for your arrival.
You have filled their hearts with so much joy.
I know that they have cherished every single moment over the last 9 months.

Margo wanted something that screamed Minnesota (since they live in New York).
The sunset was so beautiful, we jumped on her parents boat and took these last few from the middle of the lake.

Margo & Andy,
Thank you for trusting me to document such a wonderful time in your lives.

Welcome Piper….

Dear Baby Piper,
You are finally here!
After a very long labor, your parents welcomed you into their loving arms.
You complete them along with your older sister, Dakota.
You have blessed them in ways that they can not describe.

I left that night with my heart full of love because I had the honor of photographing
one of my very best friends, her husband, and this tiny little person that they share.
Just as I was leaving, I peeked back through the curtain. Such a special moment.

Jamie & Pat, I am so very happy for you. Your Family of 3 has now become a Family of 4 with Piper.
Dakota, I know you will take good care of Piper and be the very best, big sister ever.

Where does the time go?

I really can not believe it is the 3rd week into May. Where has the time gone? That means that this year is already almost 1/2 over! Oh my…

Well, what seems like a few weeks ago, but was actually about 2 months ago, I had a wonderful opportunity to photograph a new Family! How exciting! Grace and Lucas welcomed Lily into the world in late December, and here are a few images from our day together at the end of March. It was perfect!

She was a seasoned pro at this picture stuff…

A little quiet time with Dad…

When Grace pulled these hats out (made by Lily’s Grandmother Anne) my heart started thumping! I just loved them! Anne, please make me some for my studio!

Elijah has arrived!

Elijah arrived, and I was honored when asked by his parents- Anne & Eric- to take his newborn pictures. Elijah was about 2 weeks old when I took these, and he did sleep a wink the entire time I was shooting!
Upon my arrival at his home, I was introduced to Elijah, and all I kept thinking was “Look at that hair”!

The Milkin’ Ladies Sing Sweet Lullaby’s for Baby Rilla

Being that Rilla’s Father is a Dairy Farmer and her Mother is a nurse, I found it very fitting that the Milkin’ Ladies are singing sweet lullaby’s. I remember when Liv had told me how Craig proposed to her and a comment was made about the fact that the “Ladies’ bought her a ring”. Well, now they are singing a bit of a different tune for this wonderful couple. Liv & Craig are very special, old Friends of mine and when I was asked to take pictures of their new addition, I was honored. At 1 1/2 weeks old, she was VERY tolerant of me (more about that later) and my camera. She seemed to be more interested in trying to figure out what was in her face then she was with anything else.

Here was one of our first shots.

Here is the same shot, but with a different feel. I couldn’t decide which one I liked best. You decide.

After taking several images in the nursery, we moved in Liv & Craig’s room where they have this wonderful down comforter on their bed. Check these pictures out!

Although this one looks the same as the one above, I assure you that this is a different shot.

Mind you that Baby Rilla is only 1 1/2 weeks old. Does she not look like she is smiling in this picture? So sweet….

Remember when I said that this tiny child was very tolerant of me? Well this is where her patience was really tested. I have this wonderful crochet bowl for newborns. The key is to using this is to get them before they are two weeks old so that they are still willing to bend their arms and legs in the fetal position. It is supposed to cradle them- except in this case. Rilla refused to be bent in any such position! She did not want her legs to be tucked up next to her body, but she never cried once! I was able to snag a couple of shots. Here is one.

Back to the nursery we went. Liv pulled out this amazing blanket that she was baptized in when she was a baby. This is the shot I came up with…

Ten perfect, tiny toes…

Not once did this baby girl fall asleep. Usually when I take newborn pictures, they never wake up. Maybe if you are lucky, you might get a couple of very brief minutes with their eyes open. I think this shoot was about 1 1/2 hours long and not once, did she get sleepy eyes. This is one of the very last pictures I took of her that day.
